Confirmation

Hazel, my 12 year old niece, called me last night to ask if I can be her confirmation sponsor and of course I said Yes. When we are baptized our godparents are chosen for us by our parents. Up to this day, I honestly do not know who my godparents are. When I was confirmed, my mom once again influenced me to choose her friend. I have not heard from this friend since. After my conversation with Hazel, I asked my sister in law if she or my brother influenced her to choose me but apparently it was completely her choice. I am completely honoured. Growing up, my aunts and uncles were a very big part of my life so I make every effort to be a part of hers.
