This weekend in class we made a sacher torte. I know you're all probably wondering what the heck is a sacher torte...but it's nothing to write home about. I'm not a big fan of european cakes. This one in particular is dry. Inside the layers we added apricot jam and we topped it off with a chocolate ganache. If I had to do this cake again I would add a little oil, use raspberry filling instead of apricot, and put some whipped cream somewhere. Apparently you can order a real sacher torte straight from Vienna. It comes in a wooden box and will cost you $100.

It looks pretty!
Are you really supposed to write "Sacher" all over it like that? How conceited!
